But there should be an easier way, right? If you are tired of the way certain keys on your system work, such as the Caps Lock key, you can re-map them to function as a different key by using a registry hack. #Map Any Key to Any Key on Windows 10, 8, 7, or Vista How did you get it to work? I'd be most grateful for a hint. Here is a good article from Howtogeek about using a utility called SharpKeys: Updating the drivers in the dialog does not change anything, nor does "uninstalling" the keyboard and Action > Scanning for hardware changes (which will add it again). The keyboard in the Device Manager still says 'HID Keyboard Device". There are also no entries starting with "a" (like a0000409 for the Apple US keyboard layout) in the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layouts (where there should be entries, according to keymagic2.inf). There are no additional keyboard layouts in Settings > Time&Language > Language > Keyboards > Add a keyboard. I did get a "Succeed" message, but there has been no keyboard layout installed. Usually right-clicking the inf-file and installing would do the trick. This subreddit is not endorsed or sponsored by Apple Inc.Ĭould you help me out here? I've tried the same.
